um...

speaking of boondoggles. lets make them.  I saw a guy on the bus once with a big thick one that was at least 2 feet long.  It was all twisted and gnarled, hanging out of his pocket.  I find their geometry to especially enticing, in a Native North American kind of way.

They're also called scoubidous?

WHO'S THAT LADY? Notice my new lamp.

This Chair

For years I've had an obsession with this chair. It's followed me for years.  I've started calling it the Mexican street chair, on of account of having seen it a number of times on the streets of Mexico.  I spotted it multiple times in Oaxaca City and then once in Mexico City.  I even saw it in Nogales, Sonora once.  I later found out that it's the pool side chair at the famous Thunderbird hotel in Marfa, Texas.  It's made of a simple iron frame, just a few pieces welded together, and a bunch of string.  I've seen a thin rope used or even that plastic lanyard stuff used in making boondoggles.  I really appreciate the simplicity.  The only picture I can find of it is on the Thunderbird website.
