Diego Romero

A contemporary Santa Fe potter making some crazy pots inspired by Mata Ortiz pottery. Cell phones and flying saucers!!

And then he laid a golden egg.

My New Header

Dallas and I found an incredible piece of 80s department store art at a giant closeout sale that Macy's had back in January. Then Tim, my old roommate, took it and remixed it. I took it as a work in progress and put the title over it. I just thought I'd give the appropriate credit to those responsible. I think it looks pretty amazing. Here's the final remixing.

I think Tim was calling it Thunderbird.

Here's Dallas and I using the original find as a photo backdrop.

Playing Drunk Kachina Dress Up

American Indian Encounters

Once again, Deej has managed to conjure up some brilliant findings on the web. Little-known works by Roy Lichtenstein that draw on Native American motifs. Here are some pictures from an exhibition of this work. Ignore the frumpy modernist works sprinkled throughout. Pay attention to the gigantic, graphic, Pop Art pieces. So beautiful!
